BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY MAY 15, 2016

We are so happy to be gathered again to praise and worship the Lord today. Something good is surely going to happen.

A Chinese pastor, Zhang Chongzhu, who pastored the Three-Self Patriotic Movement Church in China, was released on Monday after eight months in prison for protesting against the government’s forced demolition of Christian crosses and churches. China Aid reported that Zhang has frequently spoken out against the ongoing persecution of Christians in the country, as the government sought to remove hundreds of rooftop crosses and churches. The government has argued that it is targeting places that violate its building codes, deeming rooftop crosses unsafe.

Zhang was reportedly taken into custody on Sept. 8, 2015, and was falsely charged with “stealing, spying, buying, or illegally providing state secrets or intelligence to entities outside China”. This is a common accusation against those who challenge the Communist regime. Although China allows state-run churches to operate, it has failed to spare even the highest ranking pastors from prison if they speak out against the Communist Party. Earlier this year, authorities took into custody Pastor Gu Yuese of Hangzhou’s Chongyi Church, the largest government sanctioned church in China. While Gu was formally charged with embezzling church funds. China Aid and other persecution watchdog groups said the actions against him have more to do
with his protest against the demolition campaign.

The general feeling is that this demolition campaign will shake the spirit of the government-sanctioned church leaders and the congregations throughout China. China Aid President Bob Fu told The Christian Post the following, “The reason for the ongoing crackdown is because of the growing Christian population, of which the government is afraid. The number of Christians in the country far outnumbers the members of the communist party.”

Let us all join the Global Intercessors and keep the Church in China in our prayers. Let us pray that God would strengthen their faith in this difficult hour so that His glory might be seen in them and many might be drawn to Him.

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY MAY 8, 2016

A cordial welcome is extended to all who have come to worship with us. We greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

It is our distinct pleasure to dedicate today’s service to the honor of all mothers, grandmothers, great grandmother and even great great grandmothers. What a blessing you are to our lives, our homes, our churches and our society!

Whatever the situations or circumstances of your lives may be presently, be assured that the ONE who blessed you with the privilege of motherhood knows and understands the secret longings of you hearts.

Mothers are important to God. When God was ready to send His son into the world, He needed a mother- that special person who could provide a protective womb, a loving heart, caring hands and spiritual guidance.

Mothers, you are your child’s first friend, first teacher, first preacher, first exemplar of love, kindness, beauty and grace. What your child learns from you will leave an indelible impression on his/her life for good or ill. The Word of God says, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it” (Prov. 22:6)

If you have not physically given birth to a child, but you have adopted or mothered the offspring of another, this is still your day! We were adopted into the family of God. What a privilege you have been given to demonstrate the love of God in this manner!

God bless you mothers. You make the world a better place.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother’s Day! You are Special!

The Joy of a Mother’s Faith

“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world- our faith.” 1 John 5:4

The gift of faith has been given to every mother who loves the Lord with all of her heart. Jesus expects you to grow in your faith, to trust in Him, and to depend on Hi, to help you overcome the difficulties and challenges you face. Jesus said in Matthew 17:20, “If you have faith as a mustard seed… nothing will be impossible for you.” So let the joy of the Lord spring from your lips, and praise the Lord for His many blessings.

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY MAY 1, 2016

We are so happy to be gathered again on this another day of worship. It is indeed a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord.

The top ten most frequently challenged book list is out. According to the American Library Association, it has revealed that the Bible is among the books most often challenged and called to be banned from libraries. According to James LaRue, director of the Office for Intellectual Freedom for the American Library Association, “You have people who feel that if a school library buys a copy of the Bible, it’s a violation of church and state. And sometimes there’s a retaliatory action, where a religious group has objected to a book and a parent might respond by objecting to the Bible.”

Guidelines for the Office for Intellectual Freedom have clarified that including Bibles in the library does not violate the separation of church and state, as long as it is not endorsed or promoted above other religious material. While the Bible ranked No. 6 on the list, most of the other books were objected to because of sexually explicit content, or because of having an LGBT theme.

The LA Times has released the full list of the opposed books. This includes Looking for Alaska, by John Green, first. Of course, this was due to the sexually explicit nature of that book. Fifty Shades of Grey by E. L. James, was in the second place for similar reasons, while books such as I am Jazz, Beyond Magenta: Transgender Teens Speak Out, and Two Boys Kissing, focused on LGBT themes. One can understand opposition to these books, but why should the Bible be ranked among these books when it is in opposition to their content.

Whether we are aware of it or not, we are living in the last days and Satan has launched an all-out offensive against the church. And there is no better way to do it than to attack the Word of God which is the foundation of the Christian faith. But Satan has already lost! According to Guinness World Records, the Bible is the best-selling book of all time. Research carried out by Writer James Chapman found that the Bible is the most read book in the world. Isaiah 40:8 says, “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the Word of our God shall stand forever.” Hallelujah!

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY APRIL 24, 2016

“I was glad when they said unto me let us go into the house of the Lord.” We are glad that you are here?

A Pakistani descendant of Muhammad, who was brought back from death’s door by the power of Jesus Christ, has released a new book detailing the ordeal. It all started when Ali Sayed Husnain was sent on a trip to Oxford, England, in 2007, at the age of 15 to visit his sick elderly aunt who had converted to Christianity. Ali decided to attend church with her one day so he could learn more about why she had abandoned the Muslim faith. During the service, the pastor invited those who wanted to see Jesus to come forward. Although Ali was a Muslim, he felt compelled to walk to the front of the church. He wanted to see this Jesus in the hope of understanding what his aunt saw in Him. While the pastor prayed for him, he saw a light and heard the voice of Jesus calling out to him, “My son, you wanted to see me. I’m here. Obey me. I will forgive your sins and give you eternal life.” That night, Ali went back to his aunt’s house and sleep came quickly. As he slept Jesus appeared to him in a dream. “Don’t be afraid,” He said “I will protect you.”

Upon his return to Pakistan, Ali sought to keep his belief in Jesus Christ hidden from his family and friends, but It was not long before he told his classmates that the right way to seek forgiveness was to pray to Jesus. One day after leaving school, Ali was viciously attacked by some of his schoolmates. He was kicked to the ground and his legs and feet were pinned down. After the ordeal, an older man with a beard and turban approached him and said “Islam gives me the right to kill any infidel who speaks against our beloved prophet.” The man stabbed Ali in the chest and he became unconscious. But Jesus appeared to him and said. “You were injured because you were defending me. I will not let you die … I will protect you.”

A security guard found him and took him to the hospital. The doctor gave him only 20 minutes to live. When it appeared that he was going to recover, the doctor told him that he couldn’t explain what happened to the pool of blood which he was unable to drain from his stomach and his lungs. Ali knew that Jesus had kept his promise of protection. God is not slack concerning His promises.

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY APRIL 17, 2016

Once again we welcome you to FEA. Our prayer is that God with grant you your heart’s desires as we worship him together.

A few weeks ago, it was reported by TRUNEWS that the Institute for Digital Archaeology (IDA) was planning on bringing a life-size model of the 48 ft. high 23 ft. wide Arch of the Temple of Baal to Times Square in New York City and Trafalgar Square in London next month. But on Friday April 9, it was reported by the Telegraph that The IDA has decided against bringing the replica to New York City. They said that the organization will instead, build the Arc of Triumph and take it only to Trafalgar Square in London. It will be constructed from Egyptian marble by an industrial 3-D printer. The IDA has not released a statement as to why they changed their decision about New York City.

The Arch of Triumph was a 1,800-year-old monumental arch which framed the approach to the Roman city of Palmyra and was partially destroyed by ISIS in October 2015. When ISIS seized the Syrian city of Palmyra in May 2015 and began using the amphitheater to stage executions, they destroyed the Arch of Triumph, as well as the temples of Bel and Baalshamin. The Temple and the demonic cult of Baal are mentioned in the Bible in the Book of Jeremiah, Chapter 19, verses 4-6. It was a place in the ancient times where Satanists would burn their children as an offering to the devil.

The question to be asked is this, what was really the intention for seeking to position this symbol of idolatry in our nation? Well, thank God for the faithful spiritual warriors across America. Even though the IDA may not say it, the fact remains that the effort to position this demonic structure in New York was met with great resistance from Christians throughout America. And thanks to the prayers of righteous believers the plan has been cancelled. According to Michael Synder, the editor at large of End of The American Dream and The Economic Collapse Blog, “This is undoubtedly a victory for Christianity, but without mass repentance for the other unspeakable sins of the nation … this will surely only be a short reprieve.”

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY APRIL 10, 2016

Once again we welcome you to FEA, where we’re holding forth the Word of life. May God’s life be imparted to you as we worship.

Last week we shared with you how the governor of Georgia vetoed an important religious liberty bill. However, local conservative groups are now applauding the Governor of Mississippi, Phil Bryant, for signing into law on Tuesday a similar bill, which protects opponents of gay marriage from being punished for their beliefs. The governor signed House Bill 1523, also called the “Protecting Freedom of Conscience from Government Discrimination Act.”

Family Research Council President, Tony Perkins, said in a statement that the new law “…gives fresh momentum to efforts on the federal and state level to stop government discrimination against people who believe that marriage is between a man and a woman.” He applauded both the Governor and the Lt. Governor, along with the House Speaker for standing up for the fundamental freedoms of the people whom they represent. But Americans United for Separation of Church and State, released a statement denouncing the new law. They said that the law could permit discrimination based on religion against Mississippians, including LGBT persons.

It is worth noting that this particular bill protects pastors, churches and individuals from being forced to officiate at gay wedding ceremonies. It also protects other individuals and small business owners, such as florists, bakers and photographers from being compelled to perform services at a gay wedding. Finally, it prevents the LGBT extremists from forcing their ideology on Mississippi and allowing men to force their way into female facilities because the men claim that they identify as females.

In light of the current Sodom-and-Gomorrah trend in our society, this measure can have only a positive effect on any state that does it. Could it be that God is seeking to extend His hand of mercy to the states in our nation one by one before He pours out His wrath? This is something worth thinking about.

I Take Your Hand Sweet Jesus

When my world falls down around me
And the ground is sinking sand
When peace can’t be found on this earth
I reach out for your hand.

When your hand wraps ‘round my own
A strength pours from your soul
It brings to me a quiet calm.
Til once again I’m Whole

A peace beyond all reason
A rest there in your touch
Something in your quiet words
My heart yearns for so much…

If I but rest my worries
Upon your shoulder there
Strength that pours forth from your soul
Will wash away each care.

Like a cool sweet taste of water
For a tired thirsty man
My heart finds peace, my soul is calm
When I reach out for your hand.

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY APRIL 3, 2016

Welcome to FEA! God be praised for allowing us the privilege of life as we stand on the threshold of a new month. Let us honor Him at all times even in the face of bitter opposition.
Due to pressure from the corporate world and Hollywood, Georgia’s Governor, Nathan Deal recently opted to veto a religious liberty bill that would have prevented the state government from punishing faith-based organizations, churches and pastors over their opposition to same-sex marriage. The bill ladled, “Pastor Protection Act,” or H.B. 757, has become quite controversial since it was passed by both legislative houses in February with a number of opponents of the measure claiming that it opens the door for discrimination of LGBT people.

After corporations like Disney and Marvel threatened a boycott against the state of Georgia if the bill became law, the Human Rights Campaign sent a letter last week to the governor with the signatures of several prominent persons from the entertainment industry who also threatened to boycott filming or performing in the state if Governor Deal were to sign the bill into law.
While the governor’s veto drew obvious praise from the LGBT community, it served to anger several leading conservatives and religious freedom activists. In a tweet, Russell Moore, the president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, called the governor’s veto “shameful.” A second tweet stated the following, “GA Gov. @NathanDeal sell-out to big business pressure on religious freedom, one more example of what serving Mammon does to the common good.”
It is very obvious that pressure against God’s people is mounting in our nation. What should be our response in light of this? The Apostle Peter gives us the answer in 1Peter 4:13. He exhorts us to “rejoice inasmuch as you are partakers of the sufferings of Christ; that when His glory shall be revealed you may be glad also with exceeding joy.”This is not a time to be sad and depressed, but this is a time to be glad and rejoice. This is a time to be grounded in the Lord, so that whatever the trial we may be able to triumph through Christ Jesus.

WHO IS THIS?

Imagine standing shoulder to shoulder with onlookers by a dirt road. The woman behind you is on her tiptoes, trying to see who is coming. In the distance, you glimpse a man riding a donkey. As He approaches, people toss their coats onto the road. Suddenly, you hear a tree crack behind you. A man is cutting down palm branches, and people are spreading them out ahead of the donkey.
Jesus’ followers zealously honored Him as He entered Jerusalem a few days before His crucifixion. The multitude rejoiced and praised God for “all the mighty works they had seen” (Luke 19:37). Jesus’ devotees surrounded Him, calling out, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!” (v.38). their enthusiastic honor affected the people of Jerusalem. When Jesus finally arrived, “all the city was moved, saying, ‘Who is this?’” (Matt. 21:10).
Today, people are still curious about Jesus. Although we can’t pave His way with palm branches or shout praises to Him in person, we can still honor Him. We can discuss His remarkable works, assist people in need (Gal. 6:2), patiently bear insults (1 Peter 4:14-16), and love each other deeply (v.8). Then we must be ready to answer the onlookers who ask, “Who is Jesus?”. –Jennifer Benson Schuldt

We honor God’s name when we call Him our Father and live like His Son.

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY MARCH 27, 2016

Happy Resurrection Day! Praise God, Jesus Christ is not in the grave but He rose triumphantly for our justification. Welcome to FEA!

In an effort to continue to promote what Christ did for the human race, the Orlando based organization, Wycliffe Associates, recently announced the launching of ten new Bible translation projects. This is to be done in a region of the world where conversion to Christianity is punishable by death. But because of security concerns, they have not indicted the exact region where the project will happen. However, they have made it known that nationals of the particular regions will be doing the translation work.

According to Bruce Smith, the CEO of Wycliffe Associates, “It’s dangerous, but so many people still have never seen God’s Word in their own heart language. People long for God’s Word in their own heart language. We don’t know how long we have to train national translators before they’ll be on the run. Christians are hunted down and vigilantes can sweep into an area without notice.”

In order to assist national translators without endangering the lives of outsiders, the organization will engage a revolutionary Bible translation strategy that will allow translators to complete a draft of the New Testament in approximately one year. This strategy is called Mobilized Assistance Supporting Translation (MAST). It reduces the time it takes the translators to produce an accurate translation into their language. This revolutionary method is accelerating Bible translation. Wycliffe Associates equips the translators with technology which allows them to work without being detected.

Including the ten projects mentioned, the Wycliffe Associates intends to launch a total of 80 translation projects in hostile areas of the world. They are currently seeking to raise about $400,000 in order to achieve this goal. We will surely be doing our part from our missionary budget to assist them in doing so. Let us keep the association and this project in our prayers. Amen.

Unreached People of the Month

Lao Phuan in Laos, Asia
Introduction
The Lao people are renowned for being gentle, friendly and peace-loving. Their communities revolve around close-knit family ties. They have a high birth rate, perhaps because of how they value families. The ancestors of these people are believed to have migrated southward from China approximately 1,000 years ago.

Ministry Obstacles
Not wanting to acknowledge the reality of sin and the need for forgiveness of sin is sometimes an obstacle to accepting the Gospel message.

Outreach Ideas
Pray the Lao believers will grow strong in numbers and maturity, that they become able to effectively carry the Gospel message to their own people.

Pray for the Followers of Christ
There are Christian believers among the Lao; pray they will be united in love, around truth. Pray they will be without any kind of impurity, or greed.

Pray for the Entire People Group
Pray the Lao community will retain the good features of their culture while also learning to follow Christ. Pray they be given the gift of faith to trust in him.

Scripture Focus
“The people who walk in darkness, will see a
great light; Those who live in a dark land,
the light will shine on them.” Isaiah 9:2

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY MARCH 20, 2016

“Bless the Lord O my soul and forget not all His benefits…” With those benefits in mind, we are now gathered. Welcome!

An extraordinary number of Muslims living in war-torn Syria are now committing their lives to Jesus Christ and following Him, after experiencing His love first hand through His miraculous power. This is according to a recent report given to the Christian Post by the director of Christian Aid Mission.

One Muslim woman named Nivine is reported to have brought her paralyzed two-year old daughter to a meeting of one of the ministry teams affiliated with Christian Aid Mission. The ministry leader first explained the Gospel to the woman, to which she responded positively and received Jesus as her Savior. After she was born again, she started attending the meetings faithfully, along with her paralyzed daughter. The group continued to pray for her child in the days following. About two weeks later, Nivine was worshiping the Lord in a service with her daughter. She suddenly glanced down and noticed that her daughter was smiling and her hands were moving. For a moment, Nivine thought she was dreaming. But her daughter continued to move. She was shocked when she realized that her daughter was indeed healed.

Another Muslim named Amad heard about a place in his town where a Christian ministry was praying for people to be healed. A worsening skin disease on one of his children compelled him to visit. He brought his son to the meeting and the believers prayed for him to be healed. The next day the child woke up with nothing on his skin. He was completely healed.

These incidents of salvation and God’s miraculous healing power are a welcomed contrast to all the violence that we hear on the news media daily about Syria. It is an established fact that man’s extremity is indeed God’s opportunity. Let us pray that God would continue to manifest His presence and His power in Syria, drawing many into His kingdom thereby. Amen!

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY MARCH 13, 2016

“O give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good …” (Ps. 107:1). With this in mind, we are gathered here today. May we all be blessed.

Iran is now experiencing a spiritual awakening The Christian Post recently reported that hundreds of thousands of Christians are worshiping secretly in a rapidly accelerating house church movement in that country. This is being aided by a London-based theological center which is training the next generation of its spiritual leaders. The Iranian government labels Christianity as a threat to the nation’s Islamic identity and has imprisoned over 100 Christians for worshiping Christ. But this has in no way prevented the Iranian house churches from blossoming into a movement too big for the Iranian religious police to contain.

Some estimates, such as one provided by Open Doors USA, record as many as 450,000 practicing Christians in Iran, while other, more optimistic estimates, record over 1 million Christians in the Islamic republic. According to a source closely associated with the London-based Pars Theological Center, approximately 200 Iranian Christians are being trained to become the next generation of leaders to help the house church movement grow so that it can foster a better society for Iranian people.

But While Iran’s rapid church growth is a cause for praise and celebration, there is major concern being expressed. There is a lack of depth in the movement and a severe shortage of well-equipped leaders to address this need. The church is facing a leadership crisis that, if not addressed, will damage its health and mission. There is a great and urgent need for training quality leaders, and to do that there needs to be quality theological and leadership training that is accessible to those serving inside the country. I am therefore urging us as a church, to join our Global Intercessors and pray for this movement of God in Iran and for the leadership crisis. There is nothing the devil would want more than to destroy this work of God. But through prayer we can stop him. Let’s not hesitate to do so. Amen!

God Is Waiting for You to Plant a Seed
“Unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.” (John 12:24b NIV)

~*~*~*~*~

What does a farmer do when he’s got a barren field that’s producing no income? He doesn’t complain about it. He doesn’t even pray about it! He just goes out and starts planting some seed, because nothing is going to happen until he plants the seed. He can pray all he wants, but it’s not going to produce fruit. He’s got to plant some seed. Some of you think you’re waiting on God. You think you’re waiting on God for that job. You think you’re waiting on God for a husband. You think you’re waiting on God for the windfall. God says, “You think you’re waiting on me? I’m waiting on you! I’m waiting for you to plant a seed.”

Everything in life starts as a seed — a relationship, a marriage, a business, a church. And nothing happens until the seed is planted.
Why does God require us to plant a seed? Because planting is an act of faith. You take what you’ve got, and you give it away. That takes an act of faith! And it brings glory to God.

Jesus described this principle of sowing and reaping when he was trying to explain why he came to Earth to die on the cross. In John 12:24 Jesus said, “Unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds” (NIV). Jesus was saying, “Millions of people will be saved and go to Heaven because of my death and Resurrection. I’m going to plant a seed, and the seed is going to be my life.”

Here’s the principle of sowing and reaping: Whenever you have a need, you plant a seed. Whatever it is you need — more time, more energy, more money, more support, more relationships, more wisdom — just plant a seed. If you need more time, give more time to your kids. If you need more money, give it away to someone who needs it. If you need more wisdom, share what wisdom you have with others. Give yourself away!
It may not make sense to you to give away something that you need more of, but that is exactly the kind of attitude that God wants to bless and that will produce fruit in your life. When you have a need, don’t gripe about it, don’t wish about it, and you don’t even have to pray about it — just plant a seed! – RICK WARREN
