BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY DECEMBER 27, 2015

Once again we are gathered together praising the Lord. Indeed something good is going to happen. So let us be ready.

Today is the last Sunday of the year 2015. On Thursday at 12:00 midnight, this year will officially come to an end. Those of us who understand what time is all about know that time is just “a measured piece of eternity.” Therefore, it must come to an end one day. It is important to note that each year brings us closer to our end here. This is why we need to examine ourselves and address our shortcomings.

One of the most prevalent shortcomings among Christians is unforgiveness. Maybe there is someone who caused you hurt this year. It may be a spouse, a son, a daughter, a friend, a neighbor, a colleague, or even a complete stranger. You need to forgiven that person. You can choose either to forgive or to be bitter and revengeful.

Unforgiveness is a weapon of Satan to destroy the offended person from the inside out. And if it is not dealt with, it will develop into bitterness. The Bible says that “bitterness dries up the bones” (Pro. 17:22). It dehydrates the flow of life from deep within the spirit, soul, and body. There is only one way to be free from this, and that is to choose the path of forgiveness. God’s Word is very clear concerning forgiveness. It says in Matthew 6:14-15, “For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” You must choose forgiveness. God’s grace is able to help you.

So as this year comes to an end, let us choose forgiveness overlaid with the unconditional love of God. It may be that you have been holding out on that person for a long time. It is time to let it go and Give to that person the blessing of forgiveness. Shed that load before the New Year begins. Enter into 2016 a free person so that God can fulfill destiny in your life. Amen!

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY DECEMBER 20, 2015

“I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord.” Are you glad that you are here? Well, we are very glad.

Christmas, the observance of the birth of Jesus was never intended to be a distraction, but simply to declare that death and Satan have been defeated. Christmas, at its core, is about Jesus Christ – the hope and assurance which He brought to mankind. It is the hope that we have an eternal treasure which death and the devil cannot destroy. It is the assurance that we do not have to succumb to the difficulties of life. Christmas lights and holiday parties can keep our minds preoccupied for a while, but when it is all over, reality soon dawns again. The burdens and the cares of life return; and it is only through Jesus Christ that we can overcome.

The greatest tragedy of Christmas is that we have replaced the Savior with the symbol. Even as devout Christians, the celebration of Christmas has become more significant than the miracle of the Incarnate Christ. The coming of the Messiah changed the course of history! All of Israel looked forward to his coming as their one hope from bondage, oppression, and death. Every believer’s hope can only be Jesus’ sacrifice which demolished sin and death. Yet, this great hope that changed our history and our future gets clouded by all the Christmas paraphernalia.

Let nothing distract you this Christmas from its true meaning. On December 26 when the gifts would have been opened and the parties would have been over, Christmas will still be a reality. Jesus Christ came to earth as a human, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sin and was resurrected, giving us an eternal hope. Let us not stop celebrating this hope, for it is not confined to a date on the calendar.

HAVE A BLESSED CHRISTMAS!

Spanish Scripture: (Matthew 1:23)
“«La virgen concebirá y dará a luz un hijo, y lo llamarán Emanuel» (que significa «Dios con nosotros»).”
-Mateo 1:23 (NVI)

The gift of God’s presence through you is your gift to the world.
GOD WITH US

His presence in the room was obvious. Everyone else was dressed rather formally. He had on a pair of jeans, a T-shirt, and a weathered baseball cap. I couldn’t help but notice him as I addressed students that day in a seminary chapel in Bucharest, Romania. I have no idea why he didn’t conform to the norms of seminary attire, but I do remember his name. At the close of the meeting he came up to introduce himself. When I asked him his name, he answered, “Immanuel.” I was surprised by his answer and asked if he knew what that meant; he unashamedly replied, “Yes- ‘God with us!’ ”
I’ve often thought about that young man and how he stood out in the crowd. Just as Jesus came to bring the presence of God into our world –“Immanuel… god with us” (Matt. 1:23)- so too we are called to bring His presence into our world. Jesus made that clear when He said, “As the Father has sent Me, I also send you” (John 20:21). This Christmas, we can give the gift of God’s likeness through us. When our lives reflect the God who lives in us, we can be different from the world, and that difference can bless others with the transforming presence of His love and grace. ~Joe Stowell
His spirit fill my hungering soul, His power all my life control;
My deepest prayer, my highest goal, That I may be like Jesus.

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY DECEMBER 13, 2015

We thank God that we can assemble here again in one accord. Thanks for coming. Let us expect great things.

Just this past week, Charisma Magazine reported that for the first time in almost 2000 years a historical event occurred in Israel: Over 1000 unsaved Jews gathered in Tel Aviv to listen to the message of salvation. It was presented by the host of “It’s Supernatural”, Sid Roth. This was branded as the most significant Jewish outreach since the book of Acts. Men, women, and children listened intently as Sid Roth ministered.
It must be understood that such events rarely ever take place in Israel. In fact, the last time someone stood up and ministered to this many Jews at once, it was Peter in the book of Acts. The magazine reported that as Sid Roth continued speaking about the unconditional love of God something suddenly shifted in the atmosphere. People’s eyes began to be opened and their hearts began to widen. As he went deeper in his sharing, people began to respond. Soon the gift of the word of knowledge was in operation in relation to physical ailments and many were healed delivered and set free by the power of God.

In the end when the invitation was extended to receive Jesus as Savior and Lord, nearly everyone in the audience stood and prayed the prayer of repentance and salvation. Many people even stayed after for individual prayer, the magazine reported.
So we thank God that amidst numerous reports of racial conflict, terrorism and tension, there is something significant occurring in Israel. It is not the smell of gun powder or the sound of sirens, but the supernatural presence of God. It is unfortunate that the secular news never takes note of these happenings.

The glory of life is to love, not to be loved; to give, not to get; to serve, not to be served.

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY DECEMBER 6, 2015

We thank God for the past week and we give Him praise for this new week! We are anticipating His goodness to a greater extent in our lives as we apply His word to our lives.
This past week Joel Rosenberg reported in Charisma Magazine that there is a mighty revival, unprecedented in the history of world missions, brewing in the darkest corners of the Middle East. Rosenberg, an evangelical researcher, author and resident of Israel, has documented the recent upsurge of Christianity in the Middle-East. Almost every Islamic nation has been experiencing a significant upsurge of Christianity over the last 20 years. Though the numbers aren’t equally high, all are experiencing the impact on some level. Some of the nation’s identified include Sudan, Pakistan, Egypt, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Algeria and Jordan.
According to Rosenberg, “Reliable reports suggest that more Muslims have become followers of Jesus over the last two decades than in Islam’s combined 1,500-year history. Based on the accounts of several missiologists, it has been surmised that “more Muslims have committed to follow Christ in the last 10 years than in the last 15 centuries of Islam.” In spite of great difficulty and turmoil, Christianity is unquestionably expanding throughout the Islamic world. God is up to something amazing in a region that many have thought was unreachable.”
Of course, Joel Rosenberg isn’t the only one observing the changing conditions within the broader Islamic world. There are other confirmations of a notable transformation taking place in the Middle East. But all in all, we can rejoice because the power of the Gospel is being experienced even against some of the greatest odds. Let us not dwell on what Satan is doing in these last days, but let us focus on the great things that our God is doing. To Him be all the glory and all the praise!

CHRISTMAS PROGRAM
Our Christmas program will be on Sunday, December 20th. Come and invite someone to celebrate the birth of the Savior. Refreshments will be served in the Annex following the program.

GOD WAITING

During the Christmas season we wait. We wait in traffic. We wait in checkout lines to purchase gifts. We wait for family to arrive. We wait to gather around a table filled with our favorite foods. We wait to open presents lovingly chosen.
All of this waiting can be a reminder to Christians that Christmas is a celebration of waiting for something much more important than holiday traditions. Like the ancient Israelites, we too are waiting for Jesus. Although He already came as the long-awaited Messiah, He has not yet come as ruler over all the earth. So today we wait for Christ’s second coming.
Christmas reminds us that God also waits… He waits for people to see His glory, to admit that they are lost without Him, to say yes to His love, to receive His forgiveness, to run away from sin. While we wait for His second coming. He waits for repentance. What seems to us like God’s slowness in coming is instead His patience in waiting (2 Peter 3:9).
The Lord is waiting to have a relationship with those He loves. He made the first move when He came as baby Jesus and the sacrificial Lamb. Now He waits for us to welcome Him into our lives as Savior and Lord. ~Julie Ackerman Link
Spanish Scripture: (2 Peter 3:9)
“ El Señor no tarda en cumplir su promesa, según entienden algunos la tardanza. Más bien, él tiene paciencia con ustedes, porque no quiere que nadie perezca sino que todos se arrepientan. Él se levantó, reprendió al viento y ordenó al mar:
—¡Silencio! ¡Cálmate! El viento se calmó y todo quedó completamente tranquilo.” -2 Pedro 3:9 (NVI)

God patiently keeps His promises.

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY NOVEMBER 22, 2015

We give God thanks for His goodness and love to us throughout the past week. We are joyful that we can come together again and celebrate our King.

Shortly after the suicide bombing and shootings in Paris, a poll was conducted in the United States. This poll found that 63 percent of Americans were fearful that a Paris-style attack could happen near them. The poll also revealed that Americans are even more fearful now than they were in the immediate aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013. In Friday’s attacks, gunmen struck a concert hall, bars, restaurants and a soccer stadium, killing about 130 people.

The poll found that there are rising concerns about terrorism. Of those polled, 17 percent listed terrorism as their top concern, a rise from 9 percent when asked in October. Terrorism tied with the economy as the top issue. The poll found that 60 percent of Americans think the United States should be doing more to stop ISIS from advancing.

If nothing else, there is one thing these figures tell us – we now live in a nation overwhelmed by a spirit of fear. But we as believers must reject that spirit and refuse to allow it to bring us into bondage. The Word of God says, “God has not given to us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” (2Tim. 1:7). We must be ever mindful of who our Father is and that He said, He will never leave us nor forsake us.

As we celebrate Thanksgiving on Thursday, let us remember to thank God for all of His goodness to us and for His constant covering upon our lives. Amen!

HAVE A BLESSED THANKSGIVING!

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY NOVEMBER 15, 2015

Praise the Lord for another opportunity to gather together in His name. May we all be blessed today as we worship.

Recently, the Christian Post carried a story about a Washington high school football coach, Joe Kennedy, who led post-game prayers with any team member who wanted to. Even though it had been a long term practice, it somehow came to the attention of the anti- Christian lobby that registered official complaints. The issue went straight to Washington State Superintendent, Randy Dorn, who declared the following: “School staff exercising their right to silently pray in private on their own is fine, but leading a prayer might put a student in an awkward position, even if the prayer is voluntary. For students who don’t share the official’s faith, prayers – the official’s public expression of faith – can seem exclusionary or even distressing.”

Coach Kennedy continued to pray and offer voluntary post- game prayer until he was eventually placed on paid leave for refusing to comply with the school district’s request. However, a Bremerton High School student has reached out to the Satanic Temple of Seattle to come as an alternative to Coach Kennedy’s after-game prayers. In a press release from the Satanic Temple of Seattle, they indicated that they are offering the Bremerton football team and the community their service.

It is very clear that when we put out God we automatically bring the devil in.  This is exactly what has happened at Bremerton.  God’s word says, “…because they received not the love of the truth…God shall send them strong delusion that they should believe a lie” (2Thes. 2:10-11). Let us keep this school and community in our prayers, that the light of God might pierce the darkness there, and bring deliverance to them before it is too late.

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY NOVEMBER 8, 2015

“I was glad when they said unto me; let us go into the house of the Lord.” We know that you are glad to be here, so welcome!

A 12-year-old Christian student from the West Memorial Junior High in Katy Texas, along with her mother, are now fighting back after alleging a teacher told students in her class on Monday October 26, that “God is a myth” and it is wrong to present the idea of God as fact. Jordan Wooley, told FOX 26 that students in her class, many of whom are also believers, were asked on a classroom assignment to differentiate between fact, common assertion and opinion.
When it came to an item on the assignment that stated “There is a God,” Jordan said she told the teacher that the statement is factual based on her religion but the teacher refused to entertain her. Jordan said, “I told her it was a fact, indeed true, based on my religion, and she said that I was incorrect. I was wrong.” Jordan stood by her belief in the statement as fact and quickly brought the challenge to her mother’s attention. She explained that after she and other students argued with the teacher about the statement, the teacher revealed that the assignment was a flashpoint for students in all her classes on Monday. Jordan said that the students were really disturbed. She said that one of the students was so upset that she slammed her books on the desk, while another one went home crying.
Jordan was given the opportunity to recount the incident to the Katy District School Board. Upon hearing her testimony, the superintendent apologized to her for the incident and promised to investigate the matter. But it is worth noting that with all the negative things happening in our society, God is still at work even in our children and youths. There are still young people in the United States and beyond who are taking their stand for God. Let us as parent s hold to God’s word and His promise: “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”Prov. 22:6.

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY NOVEMBER 1ST, 2015

Once again we extend a very warm welcome from the entire F.E.A. family to you today. May God minister mightily unto you!

A few days ago, I was reading about a Cuban young man who was drinking rum from the age of 12 and was also a chain smoker. A day could not go by without his consuming alcohol and getting drunk. “No one had any hope for me that anything could change me,” Daniel told Engage Magazine. His life was one of violence and jail.

One day, Daniel called his friend Julio and invited him to share two bottles of rum. But Julio replied, “I don’t have that lifestyle anymore, something happened to me; Jesus transformed me.” This surprised and shocked Daniel. It seemed completely out of character for Julio. However, Daniel assured him that he was still his friend and promised to accompany him to church one day.

Daniel eventually attended AA, but received absolutely no help. In the middle of an AA meeting, he called his friend Julio reminding him of his promise to go to church with him. The Sunday following, Daniel walked into Church with his cap on backwards, tattoos showing, and a box of cigars in his hand. The pastor started preaching from 2 Cor. 5:17: “If anyone is in Christ, he is new creation…” This hit Daniel like a thunderbolt. He surrendered his life to Jesus Christ and was born again. After the service, he went outside, pulled out a cigar and addressed it: “You’re not going to rule my life anymore.” That was the end of smoking for him! Daniel is no longer the neighborhood’s drunk. He is the neighborhood’s Christian who evangelizes earnestly. God is mighty to save and strong to deliver! Praise the Lord!
We give God praise and thanks for His transforming power that took Daniel who was nothing and made something out of him. Let us continue to pray for him and others like him who are coming to Christ in this lasts day harvest. Also let us make ourselves available to God to help to reap this last day harvest.

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY OCTOBER 25, 2015

Welcome to FEA. We are so glad that you have come!
May God minister to you today according to your need.

The director of Christian Aid Mission recently reported that ISIS militants are seeking to enter the refugee camps in Jordan disguised as refugees, with the aim of killing Christians. He reported that a member of ISIS from Northern Syria came to visit his relatives who had fled to Jordan. This ISIS member had heard that Christians were providing them with aid. His intention was to kill the Christian workers providing the aid. However, after being confronted with the good news of the gospel and experiencing the love of the Christians there, he repented, put his trust in Christ and became born again!

He realized that he was brainwashed when he compared what he was told about Christians to what he witnessed personally.
He was amazed by their love for one another.
The director said that the converted Muslim extremist militant became so enthusiastic in sharing his faith with his people that he was quickly beginning to put himself in danger. “He even got threats from them, and that’s when I began trying to calm him down, because otherwise they may kill him,” the director said. “They may take him and create big threat among the refugees.”
Do we understand how powerful and impacting God’s agape love is? It was the love of God being manifested in these believers’ lives that made the difference in this ISIS militant’s life. He came with the intention to slaughter, but he could not resist the love of Christ which he witnessed. This is exactly what Jesus said, “By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one for another” (Jn. 14:26). May God help us as believers, to rise up and allow His love to be manifested through us in this world that is filled with so much anger and hatred.

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY OCTOBER 18TH, 2015

We are so grateful to God for another opportunity to gather for corporate worship. The Bible says, “One will chase a thousand but two will put ten thousand to flight.”  Praise God tens of thousands of demons are on the run. Amen!

The Rev. Franklyn Graham, head of Samaritan’s Purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, said last week that the shooting at a college in Oregon reveals that violent persecution of Christians is on the rise in the United States of America. “Persecution and targeting of Christians isn’t just in Iran or the Middle East,” wrote Graham, “it’s right here in America.”  This he said after the mass shooting at Umpqua Community College in Reseburg. Chris Harper-Mercer, a 26 year old, over two weeks ago, killed nine persons and wounded seven others before killing himself.

Initial witness accounts indicated that the shooter specifically asked individuals if they were Christians. All those who professed faith in Jesus Christ were shot. In addition to Graham, other Evangelical leaders have also noted the apparent persecution of Christians arising in the United States.

We have been reading about persecution in the Far East, but now it has come to our shores. Of course, Jesus did not confine persecution to any single region in the earth. He said, “Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted and shall kill you; and you shall be hated of all nations for my name sake.” (Mt. 24:9). We are in the last of the last days when the Bible predicts that these things would happen. We must therefore commit ourselves to Christ as never before so that we can be ready to lay down our lives for Christ and the gospel if that becomes necessary.

Holy Ground

by Joyce Meyer

And Moses said, I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush is not burned. And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the midst of the bush and said, Moses, Moses! And he said, Here am I. God said, Do not come near; put your shoes off your feet, for the place on which you stand is holy ground.—Exodus 3:3-5

Moses removed his sandals because he was standing on holy ground. Just moments before, it was ordinary ground—now it was holy. God’s presence made it holy!

You are God’s tabernacle. Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. He lives in you! Wherever you go, He goes. If you go to the grocery store; if you go play golf; if you go to work—He goes. Ordinary things and places are not holy in themselves, but when we go and do them God has promised to be with us. And any place God is becomes holy.
