BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY, JULY 24, 2022

We welcome you to WOM, where we are overcoming through the power of the Word. May God bless you richly today.

According to a new report in Christian Headlines, believers who find it difficult to freely express their beliefs in society due to secular intolerance are practicing “various forms of self-censorship.” The report, titled “Perceptions on Self-Censorship: Confirming and Understanding the Chilling Effect,” was put together by the Observatory on Intolerance and Discrimination Against Christians in Europe, the Observatory of Religious Freedom in Latin America and the International Institute for Religious Freedom. The study features case studies from France, Germany, Colombia and Mexico.

The report points out that secular intolerance has a chilling effect on Christians, in that it directly affects their capacity to express their faith freely in society. This leads to various forms of self-censorship, because some people do indeed fear being subjected to legal proceedings or being criminally sanctioned on charges of discrimination, while others fear being subjected to disciplinary proceedings in their work places, the report said. With some exceptions, the majority chose to keep their expressions of faith or their opinions on issues related to life, marriage and the family from a Christian perspective private, because they had witnessed sanctions or prosecutions to which colleagues or peers had been subjected, the report added.

According to The Christian Post, the report’s authors stressed that while some of the incidents cited in the report may seem insignificant, when compounded, they can ultimately cause believers to feel uncomfortable living out their faith in the public domain.  A few cuts do not kill you and sometimes may barely hurt. But continuous small strikes eventually have an impact on you. It was noted that self-censorship not only limits people from expressing their religious beliefs “but also these violations of the right to religious freedom can cause the disappearance of religion in a given context.”

Most Christian participants in the study were unaware of their self-imposed censorship. However, some have censored themselves so regularly that they have stopped seeing the characteristics related to self-censorship as a problem. In other words, they have become so accustomed to concealing their Christian faith that it has now become the norm for them.

In these last days, one of the things that Satan is busy seeking to do is to stifle our Christian witness. But the fact of the matter is that Jesus did not call us as His followers to be secret disciples. He made it abundantly clear, “If anyone is ashamed of me and my message, the Son of Man will be ashamed of that person when he returns in his glory and in the glory of the Father and the holy angels” (Luke 9:26). Let us pray that God would give His people boldness like never before to make His message known in this final hour. Amen!

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY, July 3, 2022

We welcome you to WOM, where we are overcoming through the power of the Word. May God bless you richly today.

On Friday June 24, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, the faulty 1973 decision that created a “right” to abortion and inserted it into the Constitution. At the same time, World Net Daily (WND) published an article about recent data which shows an increase in the total number of abortions in the United States. The data by the pro-choice Guttmacher Institute shows that there were 930,160 abortions in the US in 2020, compared to 862,320 in the organization’s last report in 2017. This represents an 8 percent increase and the first major uptick in the U.S. in three decades.

In addition, the report shows that apart from a slight rise in the mid-2000s, the number of abortions had been falling gradually since 1990, when there were 1,608,600 abortions. “Nearly a million American children won’t be here to say their first words or walk their first steps because they were killed by abortion in 2020,” said Lila Rose, founder and president of Live Action. “The human tragedy of this alleged increase in abortion cannot be overstated. The 8 percent increase in abortions,” she noted, “was accompanied by a 6 percent decline in births in the U.S. The abortion ratio also increased, from 18.4 percent in 2017 to 20.6 percent in 2020 – meaning that one in five pregnancies ended in abortion. These numbers are a searing indictment of our society and a harsh picture of our civilizational atrophy towards the ability to love and care for our children,” said Lila Rose.

Shortly after the Supreme Court’s ruling, the Satanic Temple issued a statement insisting that it is recognized by the IRS “as a religion,” and since it considers abortion a religious “ritual,” those procedures must be allowed under federal law. “The Satanic Temple members should be permitted a religious exception to perform The Satanic Temple’s religious abortion ritual,” the organization stated. They said that they are researching the possibility of setting up their own “religious abortion facilities.”

It has been noted that America has some of the highest abortion rates and most extreme pro-abortion laws in the world. But this ruling by the Supreme Court is a move in the right direction.  Of course it does not mean there will be no more abortion, it just simply means that states will be allowed to regulate it through their legislatures, and elections. Nevertheless, there are some states in which it will be totally outlawed. And for this, we give God thanks.  So as we celebrate 246 years of independence, we give praise to God that abortion is no longer a federal law in our nation. Amen!!!

We welcome you to FEA, where we are overcoming through the power of the Word. May God bless you richly today.

The Christian Legal Center in the United Kingdom has announced that it is helping a Christian volunteer appeal his penalty. He was fined by police, and told that his preaching was “not allowed.” The Christian Legal Center said that Andrew Sathivavan, 47, was fined by Deputy District Judge Minhas at Isleworth Crown Court. The judge said he should have been preaching online instead of on the street. The center explained, Video footage of the incident reveals Andrew being questioned and arrested on Sutton High Street in south London on Easter Sunday 2020 after being told by the police that preaching the gospel was not allowed.

The center pointed out, “His appeal hearing comes as the prime minister and leading political parties continue to come under pressure for repeatedly breaking COVID regulations during lockdown,” and explained, “The case highlights serious inconsistencies in the approach of the police to the regulations with members of the government and protestors acting with impunity throughout the pandemic and without police intervention.” Sathivavan works with Gospel Light Ministries, and regularly preaches across the UK. He also works with the homeless and those with drug and alcohol addictions. “Gospel preaching is my work. I tell people about the Good News of Jesus Christ, which preachers have done for centuries in this country. I seek to reach people living in fear and without hope,” he said.

Andrea Williams, of the Christian Legal Center, called the treatment of the preacher disturbing.  She said, Bottom of Form”This is a man who spends his life reaching and serving the poorest and most marginalized in our society – the people who fall through the cracks and are left behind by the system. This man has a heart for the poorest in our society and for trying to reach out to them found himself locked up in a cell and strip-searched. The police presence on Sutton High Street caused a greater risk to public health than if they had allowed Andrew to continue preaching. The inconsistencies in the policing on these issues during the pandemic has been stark. Christian preachers seem to be easy targets and other groups favored.” Records show one of the officers complained that the preacher was there “without a purpose.” Andrew asked the officer if he was breaking the law by preaching the Gospel. The officer responded that his preaching was causing anti-social behavior and, therefore, proceeded to charge him.

Let us remember to pray for Andrew Sathivavan, that God would give him the victory regarding his appeal. We are in the last days and the devil is sparing no effort to try to stop the spread of the Gospel. But Jesus said, “And this Gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come” (Mt. 24:14). Amen!

~THE YEAR OF YOUR BREAKTHROUGH~

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY, MAY 29, 2022

We welcome you to FEA, where we are overcoming through the power of the Word. May God bless you richly today.

According to Christian Headlines, about two weeks ago in Abuja, Nigeria,a young 18 year-old Christian student was stoned to death at a college she was attending. Deborah Emmanuel Yakubu, a 200-level student at Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto, was beaten, stoned to death and her body set on fire, residents of the area said. A video showing the attack reportedly appeared on social media shortly thereafter. In the video, an unidentified man was raging that he killed Deborah and set her body on fire.

Deborah was a member of the Evangelical Church Winning All, (ECWA) in her native town, Rijau County in Niger state. She was also the leader of the campus Christian fellowship’s female students. Deborah was falsely accused of blaspheming Muhammad by a young man who is a Muslim, and whose advances she rejected, said David Ayuba Azzaman, senior pastor at The King Worship Chapel and Ministries. Pastor Azzaman said he received information about the killing from Christians at the college in Sokoto.

“Deborah Emmanuel was complaining in a class WhatsApp group chat, kicking against how they discriminate against Christians in the school in areas of assignments and test in favor of the Muslims,” Pastor Azzaman told Morning Star News. “This is what they used as a yardstick to say she insulted Muhammad. Local media also reported that Deborah was also giving thanks to Jesus in the WhatsApp chat group for Him having helped her to pass her exams, when she was pressured to retract the statement and apologize, but refused to do so. A Muslim mob dragged Deborah from her hostel in the morning, stoned her to death and burned her corpse.

The Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, the Rev. Matthew Hassan Kukah, called on Christians to remain calm and for authorities to arrest and prosecute the killers. He said, “The only obligation that is owed her immediate family, her fellow students and the school authorities is the assurance that those who are guilty of this inhuman act, no matter their motivation, are punished according to the extant laws of our land.” Two students have been arrested in connection with the killing, according to the Sokoto State Police Command. Police spokesperson Ssnusi Abubakar said all those connected to the crime will be arrested.

We give God praise and thanks for young people like Deborah, who are willing to identify with Jesus, even in an environment where others are hostile towards Christians. The bottom line is that Deborah was brutally murdered publicly because she had acknowledging Jesus Christ and gave Him thanks for her academic success, when she was falsely accused and her life taken. But Jesus said, “If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple” (Lk. 14:26). Let us make up our minds to identify with Jesus no matter what the cost, because it will pay off in the end.

THE YEAR OF YOUR BREAKTHROUGH

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY, MAY 22, 2022

We welcome you to FEA, where we are overcoming through the power of the Word. May God bless you richly today.

A coalition of pro-life and moderate senators teamed up Wednesday May 11, to block a bill that would have ensured abortion remains legal nationwide even if the U.S. Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade. This was the second vote on the bill this year, but the first since a leaked Supreme Court draft opinion indicated that the justices may be on track to overturn the1973 decision. The bill Needed 60 votes to overcome a filibuster. However, when the count was made the bill received only 49 in favor while 51 opposed.

Two of the senators who voted against the bill called it extreme.  The bill expands abortion rights even way beyond Roe v. Wade. It also wipes 500 state laws off the books. The bill, H.R. 3755 says its purpose is to “permit health care providers to provide abortion services without limitations or requirements.” Further, it explicitly says it “supersedes” all state laws. Under the bill, abortion laws and regulations are illegal if they “do not significantly advance reproductive health or the safety of abortion services.”

The bill noted that “since 2011, States and local governments have passed nearly 500 restrictions” on abortion. Parental consent laws, for example, likely would be in peril had the bill become law. Those who supported it called it the “Women’s Health Protection Act.” Pro-life groups applauded the Senate’s action. Lila Rose, president of the pro-life group Live Action, said the bill would have “mandated abortion on demand through all nine months of pregnancy nationwide.”

Denise Burke, senior counsel for Alliance Defending Freedom, said that the bill sought to “entrench unrestricted abortion access until birth.” She further said, “The so-called ‘Women’s Health Protection Act’ would have prohibited most – if not all – of the reasonable state laws related to abortion that are currently in place to protect the health of pregnant mothers, the dignity of unborn children, and the integrity of the medical profession,… We commend the members of the Senate who took a stand against this destructive legislation, and we will continue to fight alongside them to ensure policies are enacted that truly support women and protect innocent life.”

We thank God for those senators who took a firm stand against this bill and stopped it from becoming law in our nation. They took a stand on the side of God. May God bless them for doing so. It is evident that there is an insatiable thirst for the blood of the unborn in our nation. This is very troubling; I want to emphasize that God is taking note and He is going to act. But He is giving time for our nation to repent. Let us remember to pray for our nation to this end. The Bible says that God “…is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (2Pet. 3:9). Amen!

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY, MAY 8, 2022

We welcome you to FEA, where we are overcoming through the power of the Word. May God bless you richly today.

All across the world today, over 46 countries are honoring mothers. They are being honored with cards, candies, flowers and dinners. But have you ever considered how this became a legal holiday in our nation? Mother’s Day was first suggested in the United States by Julia Ward Howe, writer of the Battle Hymn of the Republic. She suggested that this day be dedicated to peace. Miss Howe organized Mother’s Day meetings in Boston, Massachusetts yearly.

In 1877, Mrs. Juliet Calhoun Blakely inadvertently set Mother’s Day in motion. On Sunday, May 11, 1877, which was her birthday, the pastor of her Methodist Episcopal Church left the pulpit abruptly, being distraught over the behavior of his son. Mrs. Blakely stepped to the pulpit to take over the remainder of the service and called for other mothers to join her. Mrs. Blakely’s two sons were so touched by her gesture that they vowed to return to their hometown of Albion, Michigan every year to mark their mother’s birthday and to pay tribute to her. In addition, the two brothers also urged business associates and those they met while traveling as salesman to honor their mothers on the second Sunday of May. They also urged the Methodist Episcopal Church in Albion to set aside the second Sunday of each May to honor all mothers.

While there were local celebrations honoring mothers in the late 1800’s, it was largely due to the efforts of Anna Jarvis that Mother’s Day became a national holiday in the United States. Anna’s mother, Mrs. Anna M. Jarvis, had been instrumental in developing “Mothers Friendship Day” which was part of the healing process of the Civil War. In honor of her mother, Miss Jarvis wanted to set aside a day to honor all mothers, living and dead. In 1907, Miss Anna began a campaign to establish a national Mother’s Day. She persuaded her mother’s church in Grafton, West Virginia to celebrate Mother’s day on the second anniversary of her mother’s death, the 2nd Sunday of May. By the next year Mother’s Day was also celebrated in her own city of Philadelphia.

Miss Jarvis and her supporters began to write to pastors, evangelists, businessmen, and politicians in their crusade to establish a national Mother’s Day. The campaign was a success. By 1911, Mother’s Day was celebrated in almost every state in the Union. In 1914, President Woodrow Wilson made the official announcement proclaiming Mother’s Day as a national holiday to be celebrated each year on the second Sunday of May.

We give God thanks for mothers today. We are to honor mothers because of their strength, love, and faith.  We are to honor mothers because God demands that mothers be honored and respected (Eph. 6:2-3).  Mothers are to be honored as a whole, but especially by their children. God has promised a special blessing to those who do so.  God has promised that those who do so will live long and prosperous lives right here on earth.  May God’s blessing be upon our mothers today and every day. Amen!

Happy Mother’s Day!

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY, MAY 1, 2022

We welcome you to FEA, where we are overcoming through the power of the Word. May God bless you richly today.

A Christian professor who claims he was threatened with punishment by university officials in Ohio for refusing to use the preferred pronouns of a trans-identified student, has secured the right to avoid using pronouns that conflict with his beliefs as a Christian, after years of litigation. Shawnee State University philosophy professor Nick Meriwether reached a settlement with school officials on Thursday April 14, in which the university agreed to pay $400,000 in damages and attorneys’ fees, according to his legal team at the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF). The settlement lifts any requirements for Meriwether to use preferred pronouns for students that may contradict their biological sex, according to ADF. Additionally, the university has reportedly agreed to rescind a written warning issued to Meriwether in June 2018.

The ADF attorneys also immediately filed a voluntary dismissal of the case. “Meriwether went out of his way to accommodate his students and treat them all with dignity and respect, yet his university punished him because he wouldn’t endorse an ideology that he believes is false,” ADF Senior Counsel Travis Barham said in a statement. “We’re pleased to see the university recognize that the First Amendment guarantees Dr. Meriwether — and every other American — the right to speak and act in a manner consistent with one’s faith and convictions.”

In 2018, a biologically male trans-identified student filed a complaint against Meriwether when the professor referred to the student with masculine pronouns, even though the student identified as female. The university concluded that Meriwether created a hostile class environment by refusing to use the student’s preferred pronouns. School officials threatened the professor with punishment if he persisted.

Meriwether filed a lawsuit against the school in November 2018, arguing that his constitutionally-protected freedoms of speech and religion were being violated. But District Court Judge Susan Dlott, dismissed the professor’s case in February 2020. In March 2021, a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit court ruled in favor of Meriwether, reversing the earlier dismissal and remanding the case to the lower court which ruled in favor of the Christian professor.

We thank God for those believers like Meriwether who are rising up and pushing back against the kingdom of darkness, refusing to submit to its transgender Ideology that is permeating our nation. The Bible says, “But the people that know their God shall be strong, and do exploits” (Dan. 11:32). Professor Nick Meriwether proved himself to be a strong Christian and was able to perform the exploit of reversal in this crucial matter. We join with him and give God the glory for this tremendous victory! Amen!

Also, thanks to all those that supported the delicious Pelau sale.  Last, but not least, kudos to my hardworking team, Pastor Emily included, for keeping my two hands up. They made sure the sun stayed in its place until after the sale. May God reward every team member abundantly.

THE YEAR OF YOUR BREAKTHROUGH

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY, APRIL 24, 2022

We welcome you to FEA, where we are overcoming through the power of the Word. May God bless you richly today.

Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt has recently signed a bill into law that bans nearly all abortions in the state except in cases where a mother’s life is at risk. According to the Christian Post, Gov. Stitt signed Senate Bill 612 into law saying he hopes his state becomes “the most pro-life state in the country.” Those who violate the law could face fines as high as $100,000 and up to 10 years in prison. A woman who seeks or obtains an illegal abortion, however, cannot be prosecuted under the law since it does not allow a woman to be charged or convicted in the “death of her unborn child.”

Further, the law does not ban the use or sale of prescription contraceptives as long as the products are sold before the woman becomes pregnant. The bill passed in the state’s House of Representatives last week in a 70-14 vote in favor of the bill. More than a year ago, the bill passed in the state Senate in a 38-49 vote.

“As governor, I represent all 4 million Oklahomans,” Stitt said at the signing ceremony. “They overwhelmingly support protecting life in the state of Oklahoma. We want Oklahoma to be the most pro-life state in the country. We want to outlaw abortion in the state of Oklahoma.” The governor also tweeted about the signing, “The most important thing is to take a stand for the unborn and protect life. Every life is precious. As a father of six, that’s what I believe, and I know that’s what Oklahomans believe.”

Stitt pointed out that he knows the law will likely be challenged. In a statement, the ACLU American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Oklahoma Executive Director, Tanya Cox-Toure said the law was a threat. “The only person who should have the power to decide whether you need an abortion is you — no matter where you live or how much money you make,” she said.

It is appalling, the self-imposed blindness and ignorance of these murderous people throughout our nation, who promote the killing of the unborn. A baby in the womb is a person and not just fluid. God said to Jeremiah, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations,” (Jer. 1:5). May God’s blessing be upon Gov. Kevin Stitt and the people of Oklahoma for the stand they are taking against abortion.

~THE YEAR OF YOUR BREAKTHROUGH~

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY, APRIL 17, 2022

We welcome you to FEA, where we are overcoming through the power of the Word. May God bless you richly today.

Recently, the Convention of States Action and The Trafalgar Group released the results of a new survey, which centered on how likely United States voters felt about the influence of Easter and Passover on our nation. The survey, published in the Christian Post, concluded that more than two-thirds of likely voters in the United States, believe that the moral lessons of Easter and Passover are important to “ensuring a strong America for future generations.” As we all know, Easter Sunday is the annual Christian celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus, while Passover is an annual Jewish observance celebrating the deliverance of the children of Israel from Egypt.

Data for the report came from the survey which was conducted April 5-8, with a sample space of 1,079 persons, with a margin of error of 2.99% at the 95% confidence level. According to the survey, 72.6% of respondents said they believe the “moral lessons found in Easter and Passover” are either “somewhat important” or “very important” to guaranteeing a strong United States of America in the future. In total, 52.6% of respondents said the moral lessons were “very important,” while 20% said they were “somewhat important.” Another 11% said that they were “not very important” and 16.4% said that they were “not important at all.”

Mark Meckler, president of the Convention of States Action, said in an emailed press release that he believed the findings proved that, contrary to popular belief, Americans do not “place less and less value on faith.” “Parents want our children to be taught to know and respect God, value freedom, observe the golden rule, and to achieve a good and great society through hard work and sacrifice. And these are some of the fundamental values taught to us through the Judeo-Christian heritage, stated Meckler.

We thank God for the sensitivity in our nation regarding the moral lessons of this very important time of the year to ensure a strong America. Let us pray that this sensitivity will lead our people to seek the reality of the born-again experience in order to really ensure a strong America as God intends. Our only hope as a nation, lies in Jesus Christ.

The death of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary, paid for our sins and the sins of the whole world. And the resurrection of Jesus from the dead guarantees everlasting life for all who believe. If we refuse to accept the historical fact of Christ’s resurrection, we will remain stuck in unbelief and in our sins. Without faith, we cannot be forgiven and born again. Consequently, we will be locked out of Heaven forever and ever. May God help the people of our nation to grasp this fact. Amen!

HAPPY RESURECTION DAY!

~THE YEAR OF YOUR BREAKTHROUGH~

BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY, APRIL 10, 2022

We welcome you to FEA, where we are overcoming through the power of the Word. May God bless you richly today.

We call on the churches to pray very earnestly as transgenderism is being enforced upon our children. According to the Christian Post, just days ago, Franklyn Graham, son of world-renowned Evangelist, Billy Graham, along with James Dobson, host of the “Family Talk” radio programs, and a man of God who has advised five presidents, have labeled President Joe Biden’s recently announced  transgender agenda for young children as “vile.”

According to Dobson, the two agency documents released only last week, are designed to enable and encourage boys and girls to castrate themselves chemically and surgically.  While the documents purport to be a ‘form of supportive health care’ they are actually leading to the five ‘gender-affirming care’ regulations which will soon be forthcoming this month and the next.  He considers this move “an outrageous and vile attack against our precious kids.”

Dobson is convinced that if President Biden had consulted with world-renowned Swedish psychologist, Dr. Christopher Gillberg, who calls pediatric transition possibly one of the greatest scandals in medical history, he might have changed his mind. “Just stop for a moment and consider how breathtakingly scandalous this is”, Dr. Christopher said. “little Johnny, a third-grader struggling with being smaller than his male peers, is now told by his teacher to consider that he may really be a girl trapped in a boy’s body. A few years later the affirming healthcare’ agencies inject puberty blockers into this developing boy causing potentially irreversible harm. This is child abuse!”

Bottom of FormJust days earlier Franklyn Graham, had condemned the President’s action as “one of the most wicked initiatives that we’ve seen come out of Washington by “endorsing sex-change operations and hormone treatments for children. He said, “Mutilating bodies and removing the genitalia of children is permanent. All of their manipulated research saying that it improves mental health or increases happiness is just a lie from hell. What it really does is destroy the lives and futures of these children.” He further stated that “Churches and followers of Jesus Christ must stand against this evil agenda. Politicians who support this shouldn’t be in leadership, whether they are Republican or Democrat.

We thank God for these two men of God, James Dobson and Franklyn Graham, who have taken a public stand against this wickedness in our nation. Let us remember to pray earnestly for the leaders of our nation that their eyes may be opened and that they may repent before the judgment of God falls upon our beloved nation, United States of America. Amen!
