BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY DECEMBER 6, 2015

We thank God for the past week and we give Him praise for this new week! We are anticipating His goodness to a greater extent in our lives as we apply His word to our lives.
This past week Joel Rosenberg reported in Charisma Magazine that there is a mighty revival, unprecedented in the history of world missions, brewing in the darkest corners of the Middle East. Rosenberg, an evangelical researcher, author and resident of Israel, has documented the recent upsurge of Christianity in the Middle-East. Almost every Islamic nation has been experiencing a significant upsurge of Christianity over the last 20 years. Though the numbers aren’t equally high, all are experiencing the impact on some level. Some of the nation’s identified include Sudan, Pakistan, Egypt, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Algeria and Jordan.
According to Rosenberg, “Reliable reports suggest that more Muslims have become followers of Jesus over the last two decades than in Islam’s combined 1,500-year history. Based on the accounts of several missiologists, it has been surmised that “more Muslims have committed to follow Christ in the last 10 years than in the last 15 centuries of Islam.” In spite of great difficulty and turmoil, Christianity is unquestionably expanding throughout the Islamic world. God is up to something amazing in a region that many have thought was unreachable.”
Of course, Joel Rosenberg isn’t the only one observing the changing conditions within the broader Islamic world. There are other confirmations of a notable transformation taking place in the Middle East. But all in all, we can rejoice because the power of the Gospel is being experienced even against some of the greatest odds. Let us not dwell on what Satan is doing in these last days, but let us focus on the great things that our God is doing. To Him be all the glory and all the praise!

GOD WAITING

During the Christmas season we wait. We wait in traffic. We wait in checkout lines to purchase gifts. We wait for family to arrive. We wait to gather around a table filled with our favorite foods. We wait to open presents lovingly chosen.
All of this waiting can be a reminder to Christians that Christmas is a celebration of waiting for something much more important than holiday traditions. Like the ancient Israelites, we too are waiting for Jesus. Although He already came as the long-awaited Messiah, He has not yet come as ruler over all the earth. So today we wait for Christ’s second coming.
Christmas reminds us that God also waits… He waits for people to see His glory, to admit that they are lost without Him, to say yes to His love, to receive His forgiveness, to run away from sin. While we wait for His second coming. He waits for repentance. What seems to us like God’s slowness in coming is instead His patience in waiting (2 Peter 3:9).
The Lord is waiting to have a relationship with those He loves. He made the first move when He came as baby Jesus and the sacrificial Lamb. Now He waits for us to welcome Him into our lives as Savior and Lord. ~Julie Ackerman Link
Spanish Scripture: (2 Peter 3:9)
“ El Señor no tarda en cumplir su promesa, según entienden algunos la tardanza. Más bien, él tiene paciencia con ustedes, porque no quiere que nadie perezca sino que todos se arrepientan. Él se levantó, reprendió al viento y ordenó al mar:
—¡Silencio! ¡Cálmate! El viento se calmó y todo quedó completamente tranquilo.” -2 Pedro 3:9 (NVI)
