BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY FEBRUARY 28, 2016

Once again we welcome you to another power-packed worship experience here at FEA. May God bless you as you worship.

Eight-division world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao, who is also a Christian, recently had his contract with sportswear giant Nike terminated. This all came about because Manny took the liberty to voice his views on homosexuality in accordance with the word of God. The comments which led to the controversy came from an interview which he gave to a Pilipino television station, TV5. The exact comments were as follows: “It’s common sense. Will you see any animals where male is to male and female is to female? The animals are better. They know how to distinguish male from female. If we approve [of] male on male, female on female, then man is worse than animals.”
But the response of Nike was the immediate termination of their professional relationship with Manny. The sportswear giant in a public statement, called the boxer’s comments in relation to gay people “abhorrent” and added, “Nike strongly opposes discrimination of any kind and has a long history of supporting and standing up for the rights of the LGBT community.”
However, Nike’s action did not cause Manny to bow or bend in anyway. He maintained his biblical stance. He told USA Today Sports, “Whatever decision Nike makes is its decision and I respect that. I am not condemning the LGBT (community). What I am condemning is the act. I’m happier because I’m telling the truth … It’s worse if we will hide the truth. I’m happier that a lot of people were alarmed by the truth.”
This is what it means to stand for God regardless of the outcome. Manny Pacquiao has taken his stand for God and righteousness even though it has cost him his Nike sponsorship. As believers, we must never choose political correctness over righteousness. We must never choose pleasing man over pleasing God. Jesus said, “For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words , of him shall the Son of man be ashamed… “ (Lk. 9:26). May God bless Manny .

Unreached People Of The World

Miana in India
Introduction
The Miana mostly subsist on agriculture and fishing while the landless depend on wage-labor. Some are marginal farmers. They have their own traditional council and the headman or mukhi presides over it. Traditionally, they accept both cooked and uncooked food from all Muslims but not from the scheduled castes, Bhangi and Chamar. They maintain cordial relations with the Bania, Lohana and other Hindu communities living in the region. Only sons inherit property among them.

Ministry Obstacles
The people of the Miana community may not fully understand who Jesus is, and possibly may not have known disciples of Christ who follow him with a whole heart. Pray for understanding. Pray for committed disciples of Christ to visit the Miana community.

Outreach Ideas
Christians can bring the good news of Jesus to the Miana community by using stories from Scripture, and also use Gospel recordings and films. Much prayer is needed to prepare hearts.

Pray for the Followers of Christ
There may be no followers of Jesus among the Miana community today, but pray for the many that will soon come to Christ. Pray that Christ may dwell in their hearts through faith. Pray they will find each other and fellowship faithfully together.

Pray for the Entire People Group
Pray for the Miana community to be able to provide adequately for their families, and for employment opportunities. Pray they will have schools available for their children, and will make schooling a priority.
