Greeting to all who have come to worship with us today!
God is moving mightily in Bangladesh! Christian Freedom International (CFI) is an organization dedicated to promoting religious liberty and helping persecuted Christians around the world. President of this organization Jim Jacobson interviewed scores of indigenous Christian pastors, street evangelists, missionaries and converts. According to them, Christianity is on the increase I Bangladesh and this is a great problem for the Muslim majority. As a result, persecution is rising against the churches, most of which are underground.
Bangladesh has a population of over 156 million people and according to official estimates, the religious composition of Bangladesh is 89.1% Muslim, 10% Hindi, and less than 1% Christian. But unofficial report suggests that Christianity is growing at a fast and steady pace especially in the rural areas and that Christians in Bangladesh make up of at least 10% of the population which is at least 15,600,000 Christians. According to Pastor Khaleque, a former Muslim, “in the last 12 months, more than 20,000 Muslims have converted to Christianity … and this is becoming a real problem for the Muslims.”
Christian Freedom International has worked in Bangladesh for many years and runs numerous missions in the country. Among other projects, CFI supports a Center for disabled converts to Christianity, Child Sponsorship and Sunday School programs, as well as indigenous Christian pastors, evangelists, and missionaries.
We thank God that Christianity is booming in the predominantly Muslim nation of Bangladesh although it is the fourth largest Muslim nation in the world and a place of many terrorist activities. Pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters around the world that God would strengthen their faith and enable them to stand for Him at all cost. Jesus said, “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul, but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell” (Mt.10:28). May the gospel continue to be spread far and wide throughout that land.

Luke- Part 2
Why is Luke so important?
Luke’s interest in people is undeniable. Much of the material unique to Luke’s gospel involves Jesus’s interactions with individuals, many of them on the fringes of “acceptable” society—sinners, women, and children among them. Like Matthew and Mark, Luke recorded the incident of a woman coming to pour perfume on Jesus’s feet. But Luke was the only gospel writer to point out the fact known to all present that she was an immoral woman (Luke 7:37). In a similar way, we find in Luke alone the conversation between the robbers crucified alongside Jesus, one of them defending Jesus and receiving the promise of paradise. Luke’s portrayal of Jesus reveals in our Lord a man come to minister and show compassion to all people, no matter their station in life.
What’s the big idea?
Just as Matthew portrays Jesus as the King, and as Mark reveals Him as the Servant, so Luke offers a unique perspective of Jesus as the Son of Man. This phrase, “Son of Man,” was Jesus’s favorite way to refer to Himself.
Most famous among the people unique to Luke’s gospel is the tax collector Zaccheus, a short man who had to climb a tree to see over the crowds as Jesus approached his town. Jesus ended up sharing a meal with Zaccheus at his house, much to the chagrin of the local religious leaders. When Zaccheus expressed his regret over his former way of life and vowed to make restitution, Jesus responded with what became the theme of Luke’s gospel: “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10). Luke portrayed Jesus as God’s ideal Man, who offers salvation to all humanity—Jew and Gentile alike.
