BULLETIN FOR SUNDAY APRIL 2, 2017

Greetings to all who have come to worship with us today! May your hearts be graciously warmed with God’s presence.

A group of Ohio pastors who made headlines last year for calling on state officials to resist President Barack Obama’s transgender directive for schools say that this resistance was rewarded with “showers of blessing” for their community.

A coalition of pastors based in Richland County, sent a letter in August of 2016 with over 100 signatures from clergy to Ohio state leadership demanding that they reject President Obama’s directive that public schools allow transgender students to pick whatever bathrooms they want to use.

Pastor Randy Raynes of Fellowship Baptist Church of Mansfield, Ohio, one of the letter’s signatories, told American Family Radio that soon after the release of their letter, the county received “showers of blessing.” The pastors noted that they sent the letter in early August and that for the rest of the month there were many areas of improvement in the county. For example, there were no reported childhood deaths, no reported motorist fatalities and 3.5 inches of rainfall brought an end to a period of drought.

Pastor Raynes also made reference to the promises of the Lord in Deuteronomy 28, stating that if God’s people would get right with Him and take a stand, that the nation would receive God’s blessing in many different ways.

Pastor Eric Byrom of Mansfield Grace Fellowship said, “God’s laws are similar to the laws of nature in that if they are followed, there will be specific results. For example, if we do not heed the law of gravity and jump off a cliff, we will fall and be injured or die. In the same way, if we do not follow God’s laws as a nation, we will experience the curses for disobedience described in Deuteronomy 28.” We know however, if we follow His commands, we will experience His blessings.

So Let us take our stand as a Christian nation and boldly uphold the standards of the Word of God without fear. Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD… (Psalm 33:12).
